Our
Story

This church was started by a group of Chinese Christian families in Urbana-Champaign.  For many years we worked hard in pursuing academic success, raising children, studying the Bible, and having fun together.  Then, we realized that life is not just about pursuing academic and career achievements and a successful future, we need also to seek to invest our time and resources in God’s eternal plan for other people’s lives.  So in February of 2012, twelve families of us who shared the same thought started to open our homes by turns hosting a Bible study and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with friends in this growing community.   In 3 years, God provided us numerous opportunities to help visiting scholars and students and their parents.  There have been many lives transformed and testimonies shared.  We have also developed a wonderful friendship with some of them. Our ministry was so much blessed, the group grew bigger, and our living rooms were not big enough to accommodate the size, so we prayed to God to provide a larger place for our ministry.  In September of 2015, we started renting the space from the University-Place Christian Church on campus for our Bible studies.  In 2017 the Lord further provided us an opportunity to register as “Champaign Love of Christ Church” (CLCC).

We look forward to serving more international students and families in the future.  Our calling is to share God’s Word with anyone who is seeking the truth and spiritual growth and to bear the spiritual fruit together as Christ’s followers.  Here is our present meeting schedule.
